The Silent Auction is Coming
And we need your help!
As you have no doubt already heard and are excitedly anticipating, Johnson Elementary’s Silent Auction and Bingo Night is coming up on Friday, March 14. It’s our biggest fundraiser of the year and a genuinely fun—if also chaotic and noisy—evening at the school. But we can’t do it without your participation and help!
Volunteers for the Night of the Auction
Below is a link to the Sign-Up Genius for helping out at the auction. We would love to have folks help set up, help with check-in, help with bingo, help with check-out, and help with clean up. You know, just generally help! Please do click the button below to sign up.
Item Donation for Auction Baskets
Every year, some of the highest-bid items at the auction are the themed baskets filled with all sorts of treats and goodies. Jessica Whittaker has graciously taken the lead on putting the baskets together for as long as anyone in this august institution can remember, but the baskets can only be organized after a bunch of cool items have been donated to fill them. Please help make these baskets so outrageously appealing that everyone will be compelled to bid on them. All you have to do is bring the items to school, leave them with Ms. Liz in the front office, and Jess will do the rest. Click the button below to see what we need.
A Couple Hours on a Friday in March
The (other) most important way you can help—please also click those links up there—is just by showing up on Friday, March 14, and hanging out at the school for a couple of hours. We’ll have a food truck on site so you can buy dinner, the kids have an absolute blast playing bingo and picking fun prizes from the prize room, and the auction always has some genuinely cool items on which to bid. It’s fun! We’re excited to see everybody out there in just a couple weeks.
I leave you with another AI-generated image of a “cartoon leopard calling out bingo numbers.” The robits have made this version much more suave and cool than the last one, as you can tell by the hat, jacket, and multiple microphones.
The future! See you soon!
