Spring Youth Baseball Season!
Last day to sign up is TODAY
Happy Sunday, Johnson PTO email list! I’m hijacking the PTO news space this morning to send out a last-second reminder to sign your kids up for Little League baseball TODAY.
Your humble PTO news correspondent (me, Bob) also (humbly) coaches a couple of teams and is (inexplicably) on the board of Monticello Little League, and today—Sunday, February 23—is the last day to register for the spring season. Most Johnson families are zoned for Monticello Little League, and you can sign up at the link below. Like the PTO, MLL is a non-profit, and we keep costs to families as low as we can. We also have a scholarship program, so please don’t let financial concerns keep your kid from participating.
If you’re not sure which Little League you’re zoned for, click the button below to plug your address into the Little League League Finder and go from there! Easy!
I am an unabashed PTO and Little League enthusiast. Perhaps this sounds silly, but I have found these small, focused, volunteer-run community organizations to be the precise antidote to—and respite from—well, everything that is bad and chaotic in our broader politics and discourse. No matter how you perceive or define what is going wrong in the world, you can find a lot of what is right and good here, at the neighborhood level, where the remarkable humans around us are working together for the benefit of the kids and families who are our neighbors. So thanks for being a part of all that!
See you at the ballfield, I hope!
