Fall Picnic POSTPONED...AGAIN!
We're picnicking on October 8. Seriously! But the Change Challenge starts tomorrow!
The seemingly endless wet weather has forced us to move the annual Johnson Fall Picnic one more time. We will now have the Fall Picnic from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8. We are still looking for volunteers to help us make the whole thing go off as spectacularly as possible, so please click the button below to help out.
Also, a reminder that our Change Challenge fundraiser starts tomorrow, Monday, September 30! The grade that raises the most money for the PTO wins an ice cream sundae party and gets to make Principal Mickens into a human ice cream sundae at a school-wide morning meeting. Kids are encouraged to bring in change (or cash!) to fill their grade's jar, or to fill other grades' jars with pennies in order to reduce their totals. (Pennies are worth negative points, while cash and any other coins are worth positive points.) This is one of our most important fundraisers, and really helps us get on the right track for the school year. Please donate generously!
Finally, a quick shout-out to Blue Ridge Boost, who are helping to sponsor our Fall Picnic. From their website: “Blue Ridge boost is a locally-owned education company specializing in computer science, math, robotics, and chess classes and camps.” Not sure what to do with the kids when they’re home from school because of a teacher workday? Consider a day at STEM camp!
Looking forward to finally seeing everyone a week from Tuesday at the Fall Picnic. And don’t forget to send the kids to school with pockets full of change! Thanks!
