And Now We Say Thanks
Silent Auction and Bingo Night 2024 is over! So how did it go?
Thank you so very much to everyone who came out to Johnson Friday night! Many, many bingo prizes were won, many sneaky last-minute bids were placed, many UVA athletes made us feel like very small humans by contrast, and much fun was had by all. The night was a great success even before we counted up all the money we raised—but also, we raised a bunch of money!
With your help, we collected $9,276 for the Johnson Elementary Parent-Teacher Organization. This is quite an achievement! You did that! So, thanks!
Extra thanks to all of our wonderful volunteers, without whom a somewhat hectic night of community fun would have certainly become unmanageable chaos.
It is as plainly true as it is unavoidably corny: every single contribution of time, attention, and money, no matter how seemingly small, is invaluable to the pursuit of making this whole thing work. Whether it’s a couple of bucks donated for a bingo card or an hour spent checking out auction winners, your care for our school community is apparent and much appreciated.
One more bit of unfinished 2024 Auction Night business: we have not yet closed entries for the Johnson Apparel Raffle! Just five dollars sent to our Venmo gets you one raffle ticket with a chance to win four Johnson Learning Leopards sweatshirts or t-shirts (or some combination thereof) for your family. Just click the button below, Venmo us the five bucks, and you’re in the running for some very fine threads.
Also, perhaps this potent pecuniary pile of public-spirited proceeds has piqued your passion for peering into PTO-pertinent pursuits.1 “Just what do they expect to do with all that money,” is maybe what you’re wondering. Good news—our next PTO meeting is this coming Tuesday, March 26, in the Johnson cafeteria! Come hang out at 6:00 p.m. and find out, or offer your own thoughts on what we should be looking into, or how we can best help the school. Hope to see you there!
I’m very sorry for that sentence, for what it’s worth. Not sorry enough to just delete it, or rewrite it, of course, but sorry, anyway.
